Does working as a family helper with Giuul sound like something you’d enjoy? Then please fill out the application form under 'Contact', and we’ll be in touch shortly. During this initial phone call, we’ll discuss whether you’re a good fit for Giuul and whether Giuul is a good fit for you. If so, we’ll schedule an in-person job interview.

Job interview

During the in-person job interview, we’ll get to know you better. We’ll talk about your experience, availability, and motivation, as well as the types of families and tasks that are the best fit for you. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions about how Giuul works.

Screening

Giuul checks a few key points to make sure you’re a good fit with us:

  • Your experience as a babysitter/nanny (at least 2 years);
  • At least two references from previous families;
  • Your age (18 or older);
  • Bachelor’s-level work and thinking skills (or currently pursuing a degree);
  • You are caring, involved, and proactive.

Start well-prepared

Before you are matched with a family, we make sure everything is properly arranged. If you don’t have a first aid certificate yet, you’ll take a first aid course first. Giuul will also request a background check for you.

The perfect match

After the screening, we’ll start looking for a family that’s a good fit for you as a family helper. To create the perfect match, we consider various aspects of both you and the family.

As a family helper, we pay attention to:

  • Your values and principles;
  • Your personality;
  • Your upbringing and your adaptability to different parenting styles;
  • Your previous babysitting experience;
  • Your skills and abilities.

For the family, we pay attention to:

  • The family’s values and principles;
  • The child’s/children’s personality;
  • The family’s parenting style.

Once we’ve found a suitable match, an introduction with the family will be scheduled at the family’s home.

Meet the Family

During the in-home introduction with the family, you can see if there’s a real connection. If there is, from both sides, you'll be matched with the family.

Evaluation and Involvement

We stay involved even after the introduction. We regularly check in with you to see how everything is going, discuss any adjustments that might be needed, and offer extra support where necessary.
